Born in Tokyo, Satori Osawa found herself drawn to nature from a young age, often exploring the outdoors with a pocket plant encyclopedia in hand.

At twelve, she began studying ikebana in the Sogetsu style and the Urasenke school of tea ceremony―both disciplines she pursued to instructor level, eventually receiving her tea name.Later, she also trained in the Sanjonishi school of kōdō (incense ceremony), gently incorporating these time-honored arts into her approach to fragrance.
