"Beautiful movements, poetic songs, and gorgeous costumes, KABUKI represents a style of Japanese beauty..." Article from HERS.

December 2008 From the magazine "HERS" Beautiful movements, poetic songs, and gorgeous costumes, KABUKI represents a style of Japanese beauty. Satori has been practicing NICHIBU (traditional Japanese dance) since the age of three. Now perfumer of her own perfume brand PARFUM SATORI, she reckons KABUKI is a world in which all she is seeking is condensed. "I enjoy KABUKI five to six times a year. When I was a child I remember having practiced the dance "Fuji Musume" quite often. Now I am attracted to performances with themes of fragrance. In the performance "Honchou niju shikou", there is a scene where Princess Yae burns incense thinking about Takeda Katsuyori. The theater was filled with soft scent of incense. This delicate stage effect was a beautiful experience. I also had the great opportunity to make the acquaintance of the famous Kabuki actor Danjuro's wife, Mrs. Kimiko. Since then I am going to every single show performed by Danjuro and his son Ebizo. Even someone unfamiliar with Kabuki will certainly enjoy the graceful and elegant dance performance. One more interesting part of Kabuki is the unnatural settings so naturally expressed, as a young lady performed by an elder actor, or a fake horse.
